If you like exploring, then you will like this book. I will tell you why. Explorers of the Wild is a good book by Cale Atkinson. In it, this boy goes out and adventures in the woods, and then he runs into someone.
The boy in the story is friendly. I think this is because in the text one day he was exploring the woods and he ran into a bear. They got scared only for a second, then they see that they are both explorers. They explore together.
I would say that I think the pictures look like the objects behind the words. For example, on the first page, the tree in the background looks like the words are part of the tree. When I went to look in the book more closely, I saw that the words were on the ground.
I believe the theme of the story is to don't judge people by the way they look. An example from the text is when he befriended a bear.
Also I think there are two lessons of the story. I think the second lesson is to treat others how you want to be treated. An example from the text is how he was nice to the bear, and he treated the bear how he wanted to be treated.
