Love is You and Me by Anna W. Bardaus

Since becoming an adoptive and foster mother, I have been on the constant lookout for books that promote diverse families. After all, my family breaks the “status quo” of how families were at one time supposed to look like. So like so many others, I love when books reflect that changing ideal of what daily family life looks like in today’s world. Our differences among our families are beautiful, and I love when that diversity is highlighted for young readers!

Love is You and Me is a cute baby book. It is simple, but it has to be. After all, it was written for babies. What I really enjoy about this book is that there are no illustrations. Instead, the entire book consists of photos of lots of different types of families. On top of this, all the descriptions of love tie into daily examples that are found in families today.
