My Magic Breath: Finding Calm Through Mindful Breathing will be an amazing resource book for so many children! I just loved how the entire book focused on teaching young children about mindful breathing.


The concept of mindful breathing is one of a calming down technique. As a classroom teacher, I see children every day in my school experience extreme emotions. Often times, these young children do not have the skills they need to cope with the emotions they are feeling.


My Magic Breath: Finding Calm Through Mindful Breathing may be the much-needed resource to help teach so many of these children a great technique to help them calm down. I will definitely be adding this book into my teaching resource library.


In the book, My Magic Breath, you meet young children that are upset. The book encourages the children to visualize their emotions. The negative emotions, such as worry, nervousness, or sadness is depicted in the story as their dark purple breath.


Through the story, the children use their magic breath and visualization to picture things that make them happy. The happiness is their magic breath and it is bright and colorful. The story then coaches the children to utilize their magic breath to blow away all their dark purple break.
